If you haven’t already applied to print with us this summer, you can still do that here!
If you do have your application in or you’re coming as a guest or printer’s helper, you can start thinking about how you’ll make your way to Manitowoc. Below are just a few notes of things to see and do made especially for those of you who’ll be driving north to reach us.
Chicago – So many museums and things to see! Windy! Art!
Milwaukee – Check out current exhibits and the Calatrava roof at the Milwaukee Art Museum. Call ahead and plan a stop at Team Nerd Letterpress, a printshop run by N. Adam Beadel, one-time Knoxville resident as Yee-Haw Industries intern, and an excellent example of humanity.
Sheboygan – Spend a half day in town for the John Michael Kohler Arts Center and good food at some excellent nearby restaurants.
Manitowoc – Where we print! Manitowoc is also home to a charming downtown, the Rahr West Art Museum, and the Wisconsin Maritime Museum right on the river with a submarine you can walk through and tour. Manitowoc is a short 5-minute drive from Two Rivers.
Two Rivers – Home to the Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum! Two Rivers is also the city where you can reserve Frank Lloyd Wright’s stillbend.
Green Bay – Home to the Ries – Martins, Bay Beach Amusement Park, a football team of note, and many other fine attractions.
Door County – Beautiful land and full of small towns that come to life in the summer with art and tourism. Take a ferry and out Washington Island and then Rock Island at the northernmost tip of the county.
